Great article. I use a combination of Coda and CSSEdit. I tried Espresso and would love to switch but the Live Preview does not work as well as CSSEdit, once it does i'll buy it immediately.

Good article. It's always interesting to see what other developers are using. Like a lot of others I find Coda's integrated FTP the clincher. I do a lot of editing files straight on the server and it's invaluable for this type of workflow. I also think Coda completely embodies the Mac spirit. It's slick, has a clean interface, is easy to use and looks great.

I do have Espresso which I purchased with the last MacHeist bundle but I've not really used it that much. Never tried Textmate but might check it out after reading what others are saying here (and elsewhere) though I can't really see how it could improve my current workflow with Coda.

I like this comment but like you said it is for the Mac guys, so i will await when you do the Part 2 for Pc guys. i honestly have been checking out NetBeans IDE 6.7.1 earlier today thinking of shifting towards it just to put dreamweaver behind although this is also been inspired by a desire to incline toward Java development lately. however, i would appreciate a personal email hinting me of the second part of this piece or a DM via my @hakeemhal on twitter.

I think i like the fact that someone coined out a name i will stick to for awhile for IE ---'Satan'.
nice work, thanks.

I think an internal FTP client is/should be standard now. You are right.... its such a mess to have two apps open, open a coder minimize to a FTP client blah blah blah. Its just a ton easier to be in one window and just keep on chugging.

That is true! I use Espresso now. I used to use coda but good ol Tim Van Damme converted me. The workflow just, works. I really like Coda to though.

Greated job! The apps used to development in mac are so easely to use, so intuitive. Even if you are a old dw user, or a beginner user of this tools, in a few minutes the mostly important commands works like they are projected to work. Light and Clean this is it!
Best whishes and congratulations!

It's almost obvious that the most used coders are Textmate and Coda. Textmate is just awesome, I love it and I would really like to type in it, but coda has the FTP client wich is the main reason for me to prefer it. An external FTP sucks, and I really hate it. Preferig coda for it.
