Now that TweetDeck can handle multiple accounts, it and Seesmic seem to be running neck and neck for me. This definitely makes me want to give TweetDeck another shot. Decisions Decisions lol

Nice article.

I tested the iPhone version myself using iPhone OS 3.0 Developers-edition.
It looks oke and got some great features indeed.
But… it’s pretty buggy. It closed 4 out of 5 time automatically using it normally.

Besides that; my opinion about the buttons is that some could be deleted. Why give the user several options to switch columns / view and second, slide between screens.

Bad luck you can’t copy-paste and the ‘more’ button gives you only 1 option. Glad it’s only a beta.

Last thing is the pop-up window, it’s not working that well. Once pressed and read the new messages, it’s buggy in clearing the window.

It’s a good start and it will be good eventually. They should look at OS 3.0 I think and make some difference / choices.
We’ll see in the future =).

I have noticed that as well. Especially if I tried to use cut/copy/paste commonds on screen. Made it crash several times. Also if you shake it (undo or tweetdeck’s reload if you have it enabled) it makes it crash.

Nice review Chad!

There does seem to be a crashing issue with iphone Tweetdeck too which even rebooting doesn’t sort out. I know I’m not the only one affected by this so hopefully there’ll be a fix soon as it’s the only real barrier to enjoying it fully.

I just noticed there is also a cloud button on the bottom of each column (desktop) and it tells you what is popular in that column. Pretty interesting feature.

You just go the site and have it replace it. Should keep everything because of the profile you have setup. Then when you make a tweetdeck account everything will sync via computers or iPhone. (thats how mine worked RE: update)

I’m a TweetDeck v0.25.1b user. How do I upgrade without losing all my Groups, Searches and column setups? I don’t see an update button anywhere.

Nice video. Impressed with how quick you got this out too.

I’m pretty excited about the iPhone version, I’ll be getting my first iPhone when the 3GS comes out over here and it’s gonna be cool to have my columns syncing. Presumably the sync also works between two or more computers too? Again useful. I’ll be checking this out fully tomorrow now – it’s getting kinda late/early here now.

Short and sweet, and the apps for the iPhone is definitely a good entry point for Tweetdeck to compete against the likes of Tweetie and the dearth of other Twitter apps for the iPhone.
